Savings Accounts

It all starts with savings. At Heartland Credit Union, your primary savings account is the basic building block of all of your accounts. It will be the first account you open at HCU.

Open an HCU savings account with as little as a $6 initial deposit. ($5 plus a one-time, $1 membership fee.) If for any reason you leave HCU, your $5 will be returned to you.

The minimum balance of a savings account is just $5. Dividends compound and pay monthly on balances of $100 and above (18 and older). Transfers and third-party withdrawals from savings accounts (regular share and money market accounts) are limited to six (6) per month.

Christmas Club

Do you find it tough to save for Christmas gift shopping? Earn dividends all year and lessen the worry of Christmas shopping -- open a Christmas account. Members can access the money on or about October 1 of each year, just in time for those early shoppers.

Dividends compound and pay monthly
Deposit any amount, any time, through any means, including direct deposit, CU*Talk transfers, and online transfers
Account balance can be directly transferred to the account of your choice, giving immediate access for shopping
Two withdrawals are allowed before September 30 but would result in the loss of all dividends earned.

Vacation Club

Start saving now for your next vacation with HCU’s Vacation Club Account. The money is available to the member on or about February 28 of each year, just in time for spring break and summer vacations.

Benefits of the HCU Vacation Club

Dividends compound and pay monthly.
Deposit any amount, any time, through any means, including direct deposit, CU*Talk transfers, and online transfers
Balance of account can be directly transferred to the account of your choice, giving immediate access for a well-deserved vacation.
One withdrawal is allowed before March 1. Any additional withdrawals will require the account to be closed.
